New rules introduced on 1 July 2018 require all NDIS providers to register with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission if they are using a regulated restrictive practice.
These rules also apply to families who are running a service-for-one for their family member with a disability.
Inclusion Australia and VALID are working with families running services-for-one and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to help families running services-for-one understand the new rules and get prepared.
Together we are developing an auditing model that is sensitive to the needs of families and plain language tools to help families understand the new rules.
These resources will be finished by June 2021.
