Disability Employment Services (DES) Reforms
The current Disability Employment Services (DES) program will end in 2025. The Australian Government will replace DES with a new disability employment service.
The Department of Social Services (DSS) is looking at all the recommendations about inclusive employment made by the Disability Royal Commission, the NDIS Review and the House Select Committee on Workforce Australia Employment Services. DSS wants to know how these recommendations will help make a new, better quality DES.
DSS ran a consultation to get feedback from the community about what changes need to happen to make a new DES. We made a submission to DSS talking about what matters to people with an intellectual disability and their families in DES and inclusive employment.
