Submission to the NDIA on Home and Living

This is our submission about home and living supports in the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It is in response to the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) ‘An Ordinary Life at Home’ consultation paper.

The ‘An Ordinary Life at Home’ consultation paper talks about Individualised Living Options (ILOs), moving away from Supported Independent Living (SIL) options and closing larger group homes with more than 5 residents.

We have been eagerly waiting for these changes and are looking forward to the implementation.

We agree broadly with the principles in the ‘An Ordinary Life at Home’ paper. Our feedback is more focused on how these policy changes will look in practice for people with intellectual disability.
