Family Foundations

The Family Foundations project will help parents and carers.

The project will help them support their family member with an intellectual disability.

The project will run from December 2025 to December 2027.

The Australian Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is paying for the project.

The money comes from the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building Program.

This is also called the ILC Program.

Inclusion Australia is working with:

  • VALID
  • SpeakOut
  • ACTDSID

Our members across Australia will also help with the project.

The project is for families and carers of people with an intellectual disability.

The project will:

Run workshops and webinars for families and carers in Victoria, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory.

Share information and resources with families and carers across Australia.

Bring organisations together to share ideas and learn from each other.

These organisations support people with an intellectual disability and their families.

The webinars and workshops will talk about:
Helping people make their own choices and decisions.

Planning for the future and future support needs.

This includes times when families may not be able to provide as much care or support.
