Thriving Kids is a new initiative announced recently by the Australian Government. It aims to establish a national system of supports for children with disability aged 8 and under.
Inclusion Australia made a submission (#55) to the Thriving Kids Inquiry.
In our submission, we urge the government to:
- deliver robust and tailored evidence-based supports
- allow adequate time for co-design
- maintain the integrity of the foundational supports vision from the NDIS Review, and
- ensure a seamless transition onto the NDIS for children with an intellectual disability.
Inclusion Australia endorses Children and Young People with Disability Australia’s (CYDA) recommendations (#86) to the inquiry. We refer to their recommendations in our submission.
