Towards Inclusive Practice: on a mission

Inclusion Advisors from Parent 2 Parent get creative about inclusion

Towards Inclusive Practice is a national project by Inclusion Australia and our members around the country. It is about telling government how to be more inclusive of people with an intellectual disability.

As part of the project we set up a national network of people with an intellectual disability to discuss important issues and make resources for Government on inclusive practices. People on this network were employed as Inclusion Advisors. As well as helping create the Towards Inclusive Practice resources, the teams around the country worked together on their own unique approaches to teaching people about inclusion.

The Inclusion Advisor team from Parent 2 Parent Queensland took a very creative approach to telling people about the importance of inclusion. This included thinking about things that matter to them, creating a mission statement and then using some clever computer trickery! Check out Callum, Chelsea, Ethan and Taum’s Inclusion Mission Statements here.
