The United Nations Human Rights Council considers the human rights performance of member states through the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). This process takes place every four and a half years. The Attorney General’s Office prepared a draft report and invited public comment.
We made a submission that highlighted some of our advocacy positions and policy recommendations across the following areas:
- Australia’s Disability Strategy
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
- Employment supports and services for people with disabilities
- People with disabilities in the criminal justice system
- Supported decision making
- Rights of parents with an intellectual disability
