Australia’s draft National Report for its fourth Universal Periodic Review

The United Nations Human Rights Council considers the human rights performance of member states through the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). This process takes place every four and a half years. The Attorney General’s Office prepared a draft report and invited public comment.

We made a submission that highlighted some of our advocacy positions and policy recommendations across the following areas:

  • Australia’s Disability Strategy
  • National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Employment supports and services for people with disabilities
  • People with disabilities in the criminal justice system
  • Supported decision making
  • Rights of parents with an intellectual disability
