National Carer Strategy
The Australian Government is making a new National Carer Strategy (the Strategy).
The Strategy will help the government make sure there is a strong national policy to support carers in Australia. This means people who provide unpaid support to people with disability, mental health, medical or age-related support needs.
The Department of Social Services (DSS) held consultations so the community could have their say about the Strategy. You can read more about the consultations here.
We made a submission to the consultation talking about how to make the Strategy work well for people who provide unpaid support to people with an intellectual disability.
