Submission to Select Committee on the Cost of Living
In September 2022, the Australian Senate established the Select Committee on the Cost of Living.
The Committee was set up to investigate and report on the cost of living pressures facing Australians. This includes examining how the Government has responded to the cost of living and exploring other ways that could help ease the cost of living.
Inclusion Australia provided a submission to this Inquiry. We called for the Inquiry to investigate:
- How the rising cost of living is impacting people with an intellectual disability
- How changes to the Disability Support Penson (DSP) could help ease the cost of living pressures for people with an intellectual disability. For example, raising the amount a person receiving the DSP can earn in paid wages.
