The Australian Government is making a new program to replace the National Disability Advocacy Program or NDAP. You can read more about NDAP by clicking here.
The new program will be called the Individual Disability Advocacy Program or IDAP.
Individual disability advocacy means one person gets one-to-one support from a professional advocate. This support helps people with disability understand their rights and get help when things are not fair.
We made a submission to share what people with an intellectual disability and families think is important about individual advocacy and how the IDAP should work.
